Mom drove us home while Dad slept in the passenger seat. He still wasn’t feeling any better.
We tried singing songs, playing I Spy, and taking turns with the Alphabet Game, but it wasn’t much fun.

Dad had a really bad Meniere’s attack at school. A teacher had to bring him home. The principal gave Dad his medicine, but was too sick to stay.
Mom was waiting at the door when they arrived. Two of our neighbors came running to help.
Mom had everything ready for Dad: a soft blanket, a glass of water, his medicine, and a small wastebasket.

Daniel Pancy
Daniel Pancy has spent his life helping students learn, grow, and succeed.
He earned undergraduate degrees in Special Education and Psychology, along with minors in Art and Science. He later completed a graduate degree in Experiential Education, focusing on outdoor education, group dynamics, and interdisciplinary learning.
Daniel taught students with autism for six years and spent more than twenty-five years teaching students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges in grades 8–12. Throughout his career, he was passionate about creating classrooms where every student felt valued, respected, and understood.
His love for teaching, learning, and helping others has inspired generations of students and families.
Daniel’s teacher career ended when he medically retired due to severe bilateral Meniere’s.
